EXPERIENCES AT THE LODGE

LAKE LENORE
Stocked with a variety of trout, bass, bluegill and catfish. The 7-acre, man-made, Lake Lenore is available to guests for catch and release fishing.
There have also been many bird sightings on lake Lenore! If you are an avid bird watcher, come check us out!

PAVILIONS & OUTDOOR GRILLS
Three pavilion areas, equipped with charcoal grills and picnic tables, will be available for guests to use during their visit. Perfect for group gatherings, protected from inclement weather, guests can pack a picnic and enjoy the outdoor space. In addition, each building will have their own fire pit. Speak to the front desk for more information.

BIKE RENTALS
The Lodge at Chalk Hill offers bike rentals so you can explore the beautiful property on a leisurely bike ride. Hit the trails or explore the Chalk Hill and the surrounding areas!

SCENIC WALKING TRAILS
We added a walking trail that goes around the perimeter of the property for guests to take leisurely walks in nature without leaving the property!
WINERIES, DISTILLERIES AND DINING
CHRISTIAN W. KLAY WINERY
Open since 1995, Fayette County's first commercial winery has provided fine wine and events for decades. The winery is open seven days a week, and is walking distance from the lodge.

STONE HOUSE INN
First opened to wagon travelers in 1822, the Stone House Inn has been a local attraction amidst the peaceful mountains for good food and good times even after the wagon traffic was replaced by cars.

BRADDOCK'S TAVERN
Braddock's Restaurant & Tavern is venue to some great musical events including a flea market. Stop by for a some mountain top cooking, tasteful music, or check out the flea market for items you might not find other places.

Fuel Coffee Works
Fuel Coffee Works offers a wide variety of hot, cold, and frozen coffees with many flavor options including seasonal specials. Stop by during a busy day to get a little more energy before continuing in your adventures!

MAYWOOD GRILL
At the Maywood Grill you will find more than incredible food, coffee, and baked goods. Everything is fresh, from scratch. There is something on the menu for everyone.

BITTERSWEET CAFE
Bittersweet Café offers handcrafted drinks, food and deserts with fresh ingredients for those with discerning tastes to grab a bite to eat in between adventures and enjoy flavor and artistry in a great setting.

FALLINGWATER
Located just 20 minutes drive from the Lodge at Chalk Hill.
Fallingwater, one of Frank Lloyd Wright's most widely acclaimed works, was designed for the family of Pittsburgh department store owner Edgar J. Kaufmann.

KENTUCK KNOB
Completed in 1956, this deluxe Usonian is nestled high in the Laurel Highlands of western Pennsylvania, just seven miles from Fallingwater and six miles from Route 40, the historic National Road.
OHIOPYLE STATE PARK
Located primarily in Fayette County, Ohiopyle State Park encompasses about 19,052 acres of rugged natural beauty and serves as the gateway to the Laurel Mountains.

TOUCHSTONE CENTER FOR CRAFTS
Participate in workshops for a date night, or a creative family outing! Everything from painting, to ceramics, glass and blacksmithing!

LAUREL CAVERNS
Take a tour through Laurel Caverns. First deeded in 1794, tours have been available since 1962 for families and interested parties to see this amazing geological masterpiece. Come take a walk through history in Laurel Caverns!

Make it a point to stop by the scenic overlook in the Laurel Highlands for some breathtaking views!
HISTORICAL ATTRACTIONS

JUMONVILLE
Completed on August 26th 1950, on the birthplace of a great war, this monument is a symbol of peace, and an impressive feat of engineering. Stop by while you tour the historical sites in the area!

FORT NECESSITY NATIONAL BATTLEFIELD
Visit the historic location of the battle that was fought in 1754 by the English and French for control of North America. This first major battleground of George Washington is a must see!

BRADDOCK'S GRAVE
This monument memorializes the great British Major General Edward Braddock best known for his ill-fated quest to capture Fort Duquesne.
